Books donated for the pledge will be supplied by Dr. Seuss’s long-time publishing partner Random House Children’s books. Dr. Seuss-Themed Book Reading Events Featuring NFL Players to Take Place on Dr. Seuss’s Birthday, March 2nd at Schools Across the Country
Participating NFL Teams Include Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, and Miami Dolphins.
February 27, 2023— Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Creative Minds Publications, announced today that they have teamed up with the NFL for the 7th annual Tackle Reading event on March 2nd in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s 119th birthday. This year, the two organizations will bring NFL teams into schools across the country for special Dr. Seuss-themed events featuring a reading of a Dr. Seuss book by an NFL player and other celebratory activities. The NFL teams participating in this year’s events include Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, and Miami Dolphins.
Tackle Reading events are assembly-style celebrations designed to inspire children at underserved schools to fall in love with reading. At each of the events a current or alumnus NFL player will read a beloved Dr. Seuss book at a school-wide assembly. As part of the event, students will have the opportunity to hear motivational messages directly from the NFL athletes and ask them questions. Every school will receive a collection of Random House Children’s Books titles, each student will receive a Dr. Seuss book from Random House Children's Books and Dr. Seuss school supplies from GEDDES, and every teacher will receive a Dr. Seuss t-shirt from Life is Good and a Cat in the Hat-style hat from Fun.com. The event will also feature other fun elements such as NFL team mascots, cheerleaders, and more.

April 6, 2022 - Dr. Seuss Enterprises, a leading global children’s entertainment company, today announced the promotion of Shannon Spisak to her new role as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Spisak, who previously held the role of Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, will spearhead all marketing-related activities for the company. Additionally, Dr. Seuss Enterprises is expanding their management team with the new appointments of Vienna Downes, Jimeka Broussard, and Raquel Ojalvo into positions within retail and licensing, on the heels of an immense year of growth for the company.
Spisak will report directly to the CEO & President of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Susan Brandt, and will be involved as part of the DSE executive management team, helping to move the business forward while continuing to support its strategic vision. Hollywood, Calif. - March 15, 2022 - Netflix and Dr. Seuss Enterprises today announced they will bring some of the most iconic and beloved stories and characters of Dr. Seuss to life with five new animated preschool series and specials. The projects are inspired by treasured stories like Horton Hears a Who!, The Sneetches, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and Wacky Wednesday, in addition to lovable characters like Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose. Executive Producer Dustin Ferrer (Esme & Roy, Shimmer & Shine, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) will serve as showrunner across all five, and additional showrunners will be revealed in the coming weeks. The announcement expands the partnership between Netflix and Dr. Seuss Enterprises even further, following the launch of the critically acclaimed animated series Green Eggs and Ham in 2019, which will have its anticipated second season premiere April 8, 2022.
The new Dr. Seuss line-up will serve as a true anchor for Netflix’s expanded focus on pre-school.
